F1 2011 is the sequel to the highly acclaimed F1 2010 ( you can read our review here). The game looks quite similar to its predecessor so far but I guess that will be updated. Today Codemasters released the first developer diary of the game and I can’t wait for it.
This years game promises to “build extensively” on the multiplayer, that the debuted in the last edition. By introducing split-screen racing and expanding online multiplayer to 16 players they have really pushed to make this the best online F1 game yet. however the best addition to the multiplayer is, by far, co-op career letting you and a friend compete and bring you’re team to the fore of global racing, by winning both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship.
Live the lifestyle of a F1 driver as from the paddock to the track, F1 2011 hopes to take players closer to the experience of being a F1 driver than ever before. A new area, and paddock, new Pit Lane, celebration and new reaction cinematics and a better press conference system emulate a F1 driver’s lifestyle. Players progress from rookie to World Champion in career mode where gamers fight to become priority driver and shape the development of the car by performing well in races and earning performance upgrades.
F1 2011 includes all the new rule changes in this year’s season. DRS (Drag Reduction System) has been introduced, the system which lets drivers adjust their rear wing on the car to give a boost of up to 10km, kind of like a nitro of sorts. KERS returns, giving players an extra 80BHP. Both of these systems allow for very close wheel-to-wheel racing with more racing strategies to complement them.
F1 2011 is out on the 24th of September on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
